The Mission

So here’s the thing, I’ve been in healthcare all my adult life. Home Health Aide, Patient Care Associate, Trauma Tech, Telemetry Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, blah, blah, blah.

I’ve worked in hospitals on multiple floors, trained allied health professionals, assisted in opening up new floors, worked in clinic settings, leading medical assistants, site supervisor, blah, blah, blah.

Almost 20 years of doing the same thing (taking care of people) combined with my passion for personal development has cultivated something in me and although taking care of thousands of patients has been fulfilling, I wanted and needed to find a way to add value to people in a more significant way

Almost 20 years of doing the same thing (taking care of people) combined with my passion for personal development has cultivated something in me and although taking care of thousands of patients has been fulfilling, I wanted and needed to find a way to add value to people in a more significant way. I’ve been “eating healthy” and mostly plant based diet since around 1996 and for years, friends and family and a lot of my guy friends would ask me for advice.

To add to this, I was a latchkey kid (I got home from school before my mum got home from work) and learned to cook at an early age and have loved cooking and preparing foods every since.

Not to go all spiritually on you (not sure if that’s a real word), but I’m gonna go all spiritually on you and say, I now know this entire time, I was being fashioned, groomed if you will to be a Health Coach! I’ve been loosely attached to and affiliated with the Wellness community for a long time but wanted to incorporate some structured learning around my experience.

This is about transformation. The mission is far from over after your 6 month journey. As the tribe grows, there will be community meetups, in-person classes, webinars, etc…

As the tribe grows, so will the value you get from being a part of it, and from contributing to it.

Men have a much harder time than women at becoming friends, we have a tendency to let our ego’s and “Alpha” get in the way (we’re not gorillas by the way, so get over yourself:)

My Training

I’m currently studying at the  Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I’m learning innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

I studied with the world’s top health and wellness experts including:

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I work with my clients to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

The video will give you a  glimpse of what’s it’s like to be trained by #1 and largest Health Coach School in the world.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as love and relationships as well as career and money. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life. An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.

As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and we’ll navigate the world of contradictory nutrition and health advice together to explore what truly works for you.

My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.

Let’s define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.

Here are some concepts that we will explore during our work together:

Integrative Nutrition Plate†

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!

Primary Food†

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.

Crowding Out††

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.

Bio-IINdividuality*

The concept of Bio-IINndividuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.

Deconstructing Cravings††

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.

The 6 Month journey

  • First, I’ll collect some basic info via a Health History form.
  • We’ll discuss your Health History form and decide if we’re a fit to work together
  • If we agree to work together, I’ll email you a client agreement form to sign & send back.
  • I’ll prepare you’re welcome kit which will include handouts specific to your goals, one book (I will recommend one book/month as part of your transformation) Included
  • 1 herbal tea month supply(Included in Program)
  • 1 50 minute session/week via skype or phone.
  • In between our sessions, you will have unlimited access to me via email. Every week we will tweak the program, adjust the sails as needed to overcome any barriers and celebrate any positive results you have.
  • Recipes, Grocery shopping lists. I’ll show you how to spend less than two hours a week in the grocery store and also provide online resources for food and supplement recommendations.
  • I’ll show you how to meal prep for the week, so you save time, money and know what you’re eating (this is so important)
  • Cabinet audit-I’ll ask you to send me pictures of the foods you currently stock your cabinet with and make recommendations changes.
  • I usually recommend a mostly plant based diet first 30-60 days until we figure out what’s going under the hood.
    Cleansing Phase
  • We’ll use this diet as a temporary reset, giving your body a break from the processed, sugary, dairy foods that put you in this current state.
  • We will slowly re-introduce different proteins you previously consumed and experiment with new ones.
    Maintenance Phase
  • Finally,  I’ll make a few books and lifestyle recommendations, wrap up our 6 month journey and celebrate the new you!
